Atlanta Flood...

Hi Everyone!
Just wanted to send a quick update on the flooding in Atlanta. Mom, Dad, and I are fine - made it through with only one small problem. My boss let us go home early on Monday to try and avoid getting stuck and I didn't even make it a mile before getting stuck!
I now understand what the term "flash flood" truly means. I turned out of my office building on to the main street (which had no standing water on it when I started out) and within 30 seconds the water was so high it was coming in my car door and by the time I threw the car in park, grabbed my purse, and got out of the car - the water was almost waist deep!

I have to admit, I was a little freaked out at the time - but after seeing the news and how many people lost their homes or worse...I consider myself very lucky. It is just a car after all. The picture is actually my car sitting in the middle of the street after the water had gone down about a foot.

I am borrowing a car from the folks for the week and then I think Dad and I will go look at cars on Saturday. I'll let you know what we find!

Stay Dry,
Angie

Angie - Sorry for your loss, but glad you are safe.

Angie - We were wondering how you were doing. I am so glad you are safe. You are so right-it is just a car. Things like this help us get our priorities in order. I don't think any of us knew just how fast a flash flood could happen.
