Vacation Day 2

Our second field trip was to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. Some of the highlights:

Exploring a Cockpit
A plane

A rocket

Lunar landing module

Catie's (with some help)

Ethne's

The Wright Brothers' Plane

Catie's version

Ethne's is 3D

We watched an IMAX on the Hubble telescope

I especially loved this because Ethne
learned about the Orion Nebula this year.
It was featured in the movie
Catie looked at the Big Dipper with hers

We walked past the Capitol

Our final stop of the day was the National Archives to see the Declaration, Constitution, and Bill of Rights. No pictures allowed, but no problem with drawings!

Heiniger Family Vacation

My in-laws, Ron and Kayleen, spent a month in DC at the AC church house. We were able to spend a week (including travel days) with them. It worked out that the girls had two school days left to finish out the year, so we turned our vacation into field trips. Brett and I, along with my brother-in-law Todd and his new bride Joan, took the girls around the National Mall on day 1. Here are some of our pictures along with the girls' "notes" they took. The note taking is something we started on a field trip last summer, and it really helps the girls remember what they saw.

Our "Tour Group"
As we left the Lincoln Memorial, we saw Marine One (Presidential helicopter) fly overhead, make a left turn by the Washington Memorial, and head for a landing at the White House. I wasn't fast enough to get a picture, unfortunately, but it was exciting.
"He's actually in there, Mom!"
Catie drew this before seeing it, and was
excited to see there really were guards on the roof

City life!

We have moved out of Eureka to the "city" of Naperville! Jerime had a job change and is now working as a project manager for a company in Sugar Grove, IL called Dispays Now. They make retail racks for stores. One of their biggest clients is Jacks Links beef jerky.

We moved into a duplex right by downtown Naperville two weeks ago. So far we love it here. I have a lot to do yet to get settled. Reagan starts school in 4 weeks so we will try to get her registered today.

We are going to try to make it back for the EJH reunion.

Dream Job!!!

Hi Everyone!!  I just wanted to share some good news with all of you.  I have a new job working in the Care Ministry at Buckhead Church in Atlanta!!! I will be working with two of our mentoring ministries and will get to serve not only the hurting people that come to the church, but also our amazing group of volunteer mentors.  This career change is something I have thought about for over 5 years and have been pursuing specifically for the last year.  I am thrilled that after a few months of interviews I will start this new adventure on July 2nd.  Below is the website of the church if you want to check out my new work home.  Thank you for all of your prayers and support along the way.  I believe this is the right spot for me at the exact right time - God is so good!

Love to all,
Angie

Wedding Picture

Last week I took Friday off work so I could work for Sue. She had three weddings along with a graduation party. The wedding at Embassy Suites in East Peoria was the biggest production she has ever done. If you want to see a few pictures you can check out her Create A Scene Inc. facebook page. The image I am posting is from a wedding I went to earlier this year. Do you all remember this?

Great time at the Wedding

Just like to tell everyone how much fun it was to see the family at Amy & Andy's wedding. Also a big thanks to the Blunier family for having us over for a cookout our first night in Florida. I hope to go over the pictures I took before to long but I am still working on my own stuff right now. This image was shot on the Tuesday after we got back home of a young lady from Richwoods. Got lucky the day of the photo shoot because it was 56 degrees in January. Two days later it was 11 degrees outside. Hope you all are doing well and that includes you too puddin' cup.

Happy New Year

Dear Family,
Wishing you all a Happy New Year.  I'm looking forward to our week in Florida.  I hope you all have good travel conditions.  It will be so neat to have so many together.  It seems to take a wedding to get us together.  Have a great year.  Love, Mom and grandma
