Invitations
Dear Family, I have two invitations for you. The first is for Easter dinner at 5o'clock in the multipurpose room at the nursing home hosted by me. I need to know how many will come so we can plan. Let me know by the seventeenth. The other one is to a birthday party for my brother Bob to celebrate his 75th birthday. It will be held at the American Legion in Cissna Park with an open house from 3 to 5 on May 1st. Every one is welcome. Let your family know if they don't read the blog. Love, Mom or Grandma

Happy 50th
Happy Birthday Mike,
Fifty years, that is a long time. Have a great day and year. I don't remember very much about when you were born, I guess I was too busy.I'm very proud of the man you have become and wish you God's blessings as you continue on your way. Love, Mom

Happy Birthday Duane
Hope you have a wonderful day - and that the weather is nice enough for you to take the day off and go fishing!
We would call that a 'Miracle at Stinky Bay'.

I wanted to wait until David had been in the family a year before exposing him to ERS.
But he watched it while he was in Florida over Christmas.
And life for Tara has never been the same - "drop your curly locks and put on your socks".
And to make matters worse, Duane watched it while he was in Florida - but I guess he has been in the family long enough.
So to all the women in the family I apologize.
But you are 'prettier than the sun glistening off my riffle barrel'!

Florida
Hi Everyone! Duane and I and Mom are enjoying our time with Mike and Faye. It is a beautiful sunny day. Duane just got back from fishing and I think he is going to try the pool. We enjoyed our cruise. It was nice to sit on our balcony and watch the full moon over the ocean. Sat. eveing we sat on the patio around the fire pit and also enjoyed the moon. We will be getting home tomorrow night about midnight. Love you all. Eileen

Happy New Year
Happy New Year everyone. I'm putting everyone's birthday in my new planner and I'm missing David's and Kobe's. If someone would get these to me I would appreciated it. Now don't expect a birthday card but at least I think about you when I see it on my calendar!! We are getting ready for Kayla's graduation party. She is excited to be done but is thinking of going on to get her degree.
Keith, we are glad your reports have been encouraging. We pray you don't have any side effects from your injections.
I hope everyone has a great year.
Love, Eileen

Thanks...........
Heartfelt Thanks!
We would like to thank you-all (southern speak for family) for all the prayers! We are doing ok. Keith is recovering from the surgery and we are keeping our eyes on the Lord! Tuesday we meet with the oncologist and hopefully will hopefully formulate a great plan for treatment. We are grateful for all the love and prayers we have felt in the past few weeks. We cannot tell you how much you-all mean to us! What a wonderful family we have.
We will keep you posted.
Love,
Connie & Keith

Happy Thanksgiving
Okay, dear family, here is the situation, and I want honest opinions.
Gavin and Riley got the MMR vaccine on Nov. 11. Saturday, Gavin spiked a fever for a few hours, and yesterday he broke out in a rash. The doctor said he likely has either measles or rubella. Because he got it from the vaccine and not from a direct full exposure, it is unlikely that he is contagious according to the CDC and our doctor, but there is the remote possibility that he could pass it on.
Both measles and rubella are usually very mild illnesses with a low fever and rash. Gavin is fussy but otherwise fine. BUT rubella in particular can be dangerous if a non-immune pregnant woman gets it. I don't think any of us are currently pregnant unless I just haven't heard yet (or someone hasn't announced yet.) We also have several babies in the family who are too young to have gotten immunized. If anyone does not feel comfortable being around Gavin, let me know so we can plan to stay home on Thursday (or Brett and Gavin can stay home while the girls and I come, if that's an acceptable compromise.) You can e-mail me at kingtaran@yahoo.com if you don't want to answer here. As much as I want to see everyone, I don't want to put anyone at risk.
